The action plan of the Committee on Carpets and Handicrafts is as follows:
- Pursuing bringing the level of the Commission’s newsletter to the scientific-academic level;
- Following up on the issues of registering and branding carpets;
- Holding training courses based on members’ needs assessment;
- Holding a workshop on technical and economic justification of carpets;
- Holding a workshop on evaluation and price of carpets;
- Follow-up and scientific-executive study of supply chain process in carpets and handicrafts;
- Following up the roadmap of carpets and handicrafts;
- Study on planting dye plants used in carpets in the province;
- Deployment of domestic and foreign trade delegations;
- Holding visiting tours, and members attending exhibitions;
- Inviting domestic and foreign business delegations to attract investment;
- Holding specialized meetings on handicrafts with other provinces, including Isfahan;
- Holding tours to visit carpet-weaving workshops in Tabriz, Qom, and Kashan with the cooperation and coordination of provincial chambers of commerce and company towns;
- The presence of an active member of the Commission to introduce the potential of handicrafts, collect information, and transfer to members among the business delegations sent to the target countries;
- Inviting the head of Iran’s National Carpet Center (INCC) to investigate the problems of carpets and also simultaneously inviting the deputy of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism Organization of Iran, presenting a report on the current situation of handicrafts in the province, and getting solutions from the country’s officials;
- Creating a database of handicrafts in the province;
- Publishing the booklet of the commission members’ database in two languages;
- Establishing a specialized handicraft printing and packaging center with the cooperation and investment of the private sector;
- Launching a website for selling handicraft products;
- Holding a one-day conference to support indigenous handicrafts with the participation of all government officials, including members of parliament, municipalities, governorates, press, IRIB, etc.;
- Creating a place for carpets by experts, following the example of the cities of Qom, Tabriz, Isfahan, etc.
- Developing the Commission library;
- Carrying out the necessary follow-ups to establish a handicrafts association;
- Pursuing and developing innovation in the design and color of Kerman carpets while maintaining the originality using the ideas of the young generation.
